Team Dynamo Out of Answers
Mount Saint Charles, RI - Team Dynamo has officially bottomed out. Mid - way through the 2013 campaign, the defending champions sit in last place at a measly 1 - 3 - 1.
Last Thursday night's game was a pivotal one for The Blues, where they hoped to gain some traction in the standings while earning redemption against the much maligned Bulldogs. Going down by a goal early was far from the way Dynamo hoped to start, but they were able to equalize easily, and followed up with leads of 2 - 1 and 3 - 2. The first period, though, ended all sides equal at 3.
Much of the same followed as the teams went back and forth through the first half of the second. Untimely penalties and suspect refereeing hindered Dynamo, but bright rays of their once great potential shone through. After scoring their sixth to take a 6 - 5 lead, their world came unraveled and Dynamo found themselves on the losing side of a 9 - 6 score as the buzzer signaled the end of two.
There was no end in sight for Team Dynamo as they, to put it quite nicely, were like watching molasses flow up a rocky cliff. A mid period tilt pumped some juice into the Blues and they capitalized on the momentum, making it 9 - 7 on a nice tic - tac - toe goal with eight minutes to go. However, the Bulldogs responded by scoring three consecutive of their own, putting Team Dynamo into all too familiar territory: the loss column. The loss was their third of season and puts them squarely in last place of six teams, far from post - season play.
Multiple Dynamo players refused comment after the game, but more than a couple had only one word for the press, "disgraceful." After a decade of prominence in the stacked RIMSEHL, Team Dynamo has crashed harder than the NYSE in 2008, with no hope for reform in sight. The Blues faceoff this Wednesday against the not-yet-seen-this-season Baboons squad, and follow up Thursday evening against Woonsocket.
Godspeed to Team Dynamo; they're going to need a bushel of horseshoes up their tuckus to redeem 2013.
Team Dynamo can't perform any worse than they are now
