RIMSEHL Trade Deadline Passes
Team Dynamo Retains Corps...
Woonsocket, RI - In what was a charged and emotional day around the Rhode Island Men's Super Elite Hockey League, reigning 2012 Champion Team Dynamo remained relatively quiet as the 3 PM trade deadline came and went. Opting not to make any moves, General Manager and Player/Coach Dave Farrell instead sealed up several key members of last year's championship team to long term contracts. Most notably, Ryan Baynes, Erik Noack and Coach Farrell himself, members of the storied club Dynamo since its inception, restructured their contracts to provide cap space. In truly selfless fashion, the grizzled veterans therefore ensured the Ole' Blues line-up will remain the same for Opening Day 2013 as it had the year prior.
Available for immediate release, the 2013 Pre Season Team Dynamo Roster has been made accessible by the league office.
Although most members of the squad are hard at work with off season workouts, the press was able to reach recently reincarnated center man Dan Maturi. "Looks good," was Maturi's only comment. While mum with words, it was clear that Maturi's intensity and focus on the upcoming campaign was omni-present. Also available for comment was Assistant to the Travelling Secretary, Erik Noack, who seemed nothing less than ecstatic at the day's events. "You know, we did what we needed to do. Coach Farrell pounds the pavement in the off-season as much as anyone around the league and is never prepared to rest on his laurels. He makes us go, and I have no question that decision to keep quiet on the waiver wire was the right one."
Team Dynamo will be holding an invitation only amateur training camp at an undisclosed Rhode Island location on a yet-to-be-determined date in June. Director of Player Personnel Craig Houle commented, "Yeah, maybe we're looking for some young blood to plug in on an as-needed basis. It's easy to evaluate incoming talent on their hockey ability, but more importantly, who can provide a locker room boost? That's really the most crucial piece of the puzzle. Only time, and Bud Lights, will tell."
