Things Are Getting Interesting

Woonsocket, RI - We're just past the halfway point in the 2022 Rhode Island Men's Super Elite Hockey League (RIMSEHL) season, and, after another successful All Star Week, the league is really heating up.

For starters, Team Dynamo had the early slot and matched up against the fledgling Royals side, ultimately skating to a 6 - 2 win. It was a slow start for the Boys in Blue, and credit due to a scrappy Royals goalie and a much improved effort as compared to their first meeting. Heading into the third period with the teams tied at one, Team Dynamo was finally able to break through, which appeared to open the flood gates, with Team Dynamo scoring on multiple consecutive shifts.

Of note, star Dynamo goaltender Jimmy Merola was back in net after an off ice injury kept him sidelined for the last two contests. True to from, Merola, while absent from the ice for weeks, was certainly there in spirit, and also literally there, to support his team.

Corporate Joe Loiselle and recently re-signed centerman James Guay were missing from the line up.

In other news, there was another game following Team Dynamo's, however fans and sponsors alike were really focused on the late game, Squids v Bulldogs. In their first meeting, the Bulldogs beat the Squids in a close one, however last night's result turned in the Squids favor. In turn, this locked the Bulldogs in at 12 points, and with Team Dynamo's win, they also have 12 points, with Goon Squad and Squids hot on their heals with 10 points apiece. Needless to say, the parody in the league seems to be as good as it has been in years, and things are shaping up as to provide Northern Rhode Island with some phenomenal hockey as the playoff push begins. Be sure to check out the full league standings now posted.

Tickets can be purchased onsite for $5.
